Introduction:

Clinical Research is an inevitable part of the healthcare market world over. Whole healthcare industry from pharmaceutical producers to consumers, all trust the credibility of trials done and safety data accumulated by the Clinical Research group behind each new drug, cosmetic product, food supplement or any other healthcare consumable product or device launched in the market.

Hospital management and administration is concerned with the organization, coordination, planning, staffing, evaluating and controlling of health services for the masses. The primary objective is to provide quality healthcare to people and that too is a cost – effective manner. Professional hospital administrators have proven how institutions can be managed proficiently, economically and successfully in a given time period.

Course Objective:

This two-year course offers a The Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research along with MBA (Hospital Management), this programme is designed to impart clear and deep understanding on various essential elements of  Clinical Research and Hospital Management, provide theoretical knowledge on various essential topics of Hospital Administration: Regulatory, Medical Records, Human Resource, Public Relationship etc,  train you on different aspects and activities involved in Hospitals: Hospital Marketing and Promotion, Hospital Information Technology, Financial Management etc., Roles and Responsibilities of Clinical Research and Hospital Administrator along with its application required to execute at various levels.

Eligibility Criterion:

The course requires every candidate to have a graduation degree in the least. However, this stands as the minimum stated criteria. Any candidate with a higher education in the field or in another field bearing similarities to this one can apply for the programme just as easily.

Programme Length:

The course is scheduled to take up a time of two years. The subjects and sessions have been designed as per the two year deadline and hence, carry a distributed sense among them.

Internship

All the efforts will be made in the form of 3 months internship to provide industrial exposure to the students through internship with pharmaceutical company so that they can have good practical knowledge beyond the classroom experience.

Programme Fees:

A one-time programme fees (lump sum paid at beginning of the course) of Rs. 65000/- . This covers for the course registration fees, tuition fees, course material fees etc. Apart from this, every student has to pay an examination fee of Rs 8800/-.

Examination and Certification:

An evaluation is scheduled at the end of each semester after the completion of the semester wise course. The candidates who qualify this examination will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research by IGMPI and Masters of Business Administration in Hospital Management Degree by UGC approved University.

PG Diploma in Clinical Research is a broad spectrum course which offers to entail the candidate with knowledge and practically important information about the industry type, working modalities, methodology of trials, techniques of quality control, drug development, post marketing safety checks and all other aspects related to the clinical research industry. With the completion of this course the candidate gets to select from varied work areas of the industry/sector of his/her interest. Knowing all faces of the industry, candidate can target to specifically enter the drug development, CTs, Data Management, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance or Post marketing Surveillance teams of various Pharmaceutical companies. Same is true for the professionals who are already a part of the industry but are keen on making lateral movement in their company by shifting to other department.

Professionals in hospital management, also known as health services management, usually have the job title of hospital manager or hospital administrator. They typically coordinate and direct the delivery of healthcare services in a hospital system. Managers may head entire hospitals or be in charge of specific departments or branches. Training in hospital management opens up a number of career options. Large hospitals often have a team of managers to oversee operations in specific departments, such as human resources, health information and medical billing. Smaller hospitals may only have a few administrators that work in multiple administrative areas. A manager may also head the entire hospital administrative system.
